What you type stays in your browser

The calculator is JavaScript that runs on your own device. Your weight, your drinks and the times you enter are never sent to a server, because there is no server to send them to — this site is a set of static files. Nobody here can see what you calculated.

Your body details (sex, weight, height, age and units) are saved in your browser's local storage so you do not retype them next time. Your drinks are not saved. Clearing your browser data removes all of it, and if storage is blocked the calculator still works.

Analytics and cookies

This site counts visits with Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It records which pages are viewed, where visitors come from, the type of device and the approximate country, and shows them to us only as totals. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Nothing you type into the tools is sent to it.

It uses two cookies, _ga and _ga_<id>, kept for up to two years, only to tell visits apart. In the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland these cookies are set only after you click “Allow” in the cookie box (legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); until then, and if you decline, Google receives only cookie-free signals without an identifier. Elsewhere analytics is on by default. Anyone can allow or decline at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; your choice is saved in your browser.

Google may process the data in the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months. The site shows no advertising.
